Wedding at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte

Getting married in Tuscany: Wedding at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte.

A new service, once again in Tuscany, in the town of Mezzomonte. The name alone is quite evocative, bringing to mind the region’s most distinctive hilly landscape. The location chosen by Farah and Paul, a young American couple of Arab-Indian origin, for their wedding is Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte, a stone’s throw from Florence and very close to Impruneta, right where the first hills of Chianti begin to appear.

The villa has ancient origins and a history spanning 1,000 years. Originally a fortified farm owned by the Buondelmonti family, in 1300 it passed to the Barducci Attavanti family, who founded the nucleus of what would later become a stately home, designing its architectural layout with a quadrangular plan and internal courtyard. After Lorenzo il Magnifico, who owned it for only two years in 1480, the villa, through various acquisitions, became the property of the influential Panciatichi family, who transformed it in 1580 into what can be defined as a Renaissance villa with a typical raised watchtower.

In 1629, another Medici, the future Cardinal Giovan Carlo, took possession of it and made it his “country palace,” where he organized banquets and receptions. He called upon the best artists of the time to decorate and fresco the interior of the villa, and even today it is possible to admire splendid frescoes with mythological or bucolic themes in the galleries and on the walls of the villa. Finally, in 1644, the villa was purchased by the Corsini family, who were of ancient nobility.

Since its acquisition, the Corsini family has aimed not only to improve the structure of the villa, but also to strengthen its link with the territory and restore its identity as a rustic villa through appropriate interventions and specific activities. The gardens were enlarged, a farm was built, and an oil mill was constructed to serve the numerous farms planted with olive trees in the surrounding area.

In the 1990s, the family settled permanently in the villa, with the intention of fully experiencing the area and, above all, stimulating its growth and development, turning the property into the ideal venue for ceremonies, weddings, and events. Thanks to the passion and professionalism of the descendants, important renovation and maintenance work has been carried out on the villa’s immense cultural and artistic heritage.

Extreme care and taste have been employed in the design of the spaces intended for welcoming guests and enjoying the villa, creating a place that, while preserving its ancient charm intact, is able to offer the most modern and up-to-date solutions in the field of hospitality with professionalism and competence.

Farah and Paul’s wedding at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte was a simple yet extremely elegant ceremony, precisely because of its minimalism. The floral decorations were minimalist, with soft-colored antique roses in perfect harmony with the local vegetation, framed by tall trees. There were few relatives and friends, but enough to create a warm and composed atmosphere of intimacy around the bride and groom.

Among them was a 92-year-old grandmother who enriched the celebration with her spontaneity and tenderness. One photo shows her leaning on her cane, a basket under her arm, enjoying herself as she scatters flower petals. Also noteworthy was the banquet, set without ostentation or excess, but with moderation and elegance, confirming that taste loves simplicity.

The bride and groom, beautiful and elegant, perfectly at ease and relaxed, managed to experience all the most engaging and significant moments of the ceremony with naturalness and joy from start to finish, as if a magical harmony had been created between them and the naturalness of the landscape. The photos convey better than any words the magical harmony that the wedding at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte generated.
