Castello Vicchiomaggio. It is a name full of evocations and references. One would almost come to imagine it described in a fairy tale, as the romantic abode of a princess or as a sumptuous rendezvous for an amorous gathering in a novella from the Decameron. It is a sweet-sounding and somewhat ancient name for this castle, and the same might be thought of the landscape that surrounds it.
